I believe in pushing through
all the pain in your way,
I believe in honesty
and stand by what I say.
I believe in being aware,
there's so much out there to hurt you.
I believe in the strength of friendship,
to keep your world together.
I believe in taking a hand
that no one ever took,
to give someone a purpose
that everyone ignored.
I believe in never holding back,
cause you might encourage someone
to stand up and fight with you.
I believe in actions,
more than I believe in words,
deceptions flow so easily when spoken,
but it's harder to deny what you've done.
I believe in acceptance
of what's not always visible on the surface,
I believe in taking them down
one by one until
they understand what's important.
I believe in love,
and all the places it can take you,
I believe in wanting things
that you may never have.
And I believe that someday
there won't be so much pain,
or reasons to break down,
but even as I say this,
I can't convince myself
that I believe in me.
